365 Days. 3 millions hours. That's what's in a year.
Approximately. I mean, we aren't mathematicians.
What have you been up to? Neat!
Us you ask? We've been up to a lot of things. Most of them having nothing to do with finishing SLOW JAMZ sadly. Mark has H1N1, Marshall is writing his thesis, Annalea is looking gorgeous, and Eric is playing video games. Or making video games. I can never remember.
What do we have to show for ourselves after a year of not posting anything? A song. Marshall and Eric (under the moniker Ginger Limbs) contributed a song to the illustrious and completely fantastic Here & Noun Issue #2.
Listen to the song. Buy a copy of Here & Noun Issue #2. And by the time you get back SLOW JAMZ will be finished......almost.

There is a new LIVE video up that was made after our last Edmonton show and even though you can't really hear us singing it still sounds great and we look really really good. First five people to e-mail spreepark@gmail.com correctly identifying the song win a date with Eric.

OMG. It's been so long. I'm sorry! I'm sorry!
We have been hiding, and we apologize, but here is an update for all of our favorites.
Mark is in Europe touring with his side-project Woodpigeon, Annalea and "Spreepark-Drummer" Garrett just got married in Italy (HOT!), Eric is holed up in a basement somewhere writing scores for video games and Marshall just started Grad School. So we have all been slightly preoccupied lately.
HOWEVER....
The eagerly-anticipated third album 'Slow Jamz' is one day away from being completely recorded and will then only require mixing and mastering before we can release it to the festering masses (to rave reviews of course). Also in the works, TWO new music videos for songs off of 'Slow Jamz' to be shot in October and November and MERCH. Well, we haven't really discussed that as a group yet but it's about fucking time we started seeing our oh-so-attractive peeps rocking Spreepark shirts around the world. So we'll get on that. Also there are some new band photos up if you haven't seen our latest hairstyles.
Check back soon for more updates on music, side-projects, outfits, deconstructionist literature, disco balls and some great soup recipes.
I love you all.

We are heading back to the studio to finish off recording and mixing our upcoming (amazing) third album -- Slow Jamz.
Keep checking back for updates!
Talk to you soon.

The musical was a hit. But sadly it is all over now. The park is asleep again.
However, Spreepark the band is getting together in July to play two LIVE shows in Edmonton and Calgary.
July 3rd - Calgary - @ the Marquee Room (map)
July 4th - Edmonton - all ages @ the Auditorium at Campus Saint-Jean (map)
Both shows are avec the painfully cute Forest City Lovers from Toronto.
See you then.

Die Spreepark Gewerkschaft (the Spreepark Workers Union) will assemble in full force from May 22nd to the 24th at the TransAlta Arts Barns to bring a forsaken amusement park back to life. Among the collective of artists, actors, designers and musicians are six of Edmonton's dearest bands who have joined forces to present three entirely unique musical perspectives on how Berlin's beloved Spreepark is destined to re-emerge. Unite the Spreepark workers!
In other words.....as the musical "Willkommen in Spreepark" nears it's three-day run in May we are kicking things off with a concert featuring the SIX local bands who will be performing the music throughout the performance.
The three-volume soundtrack of all of the band's Spreepark covers will be available at the show. A paypal option will be added here soon after.

Legend has it that "the four core members of Spreepark - three boys and a girl, so they wouldn't be compared with gender-symmetrical decadent capitalists ABBA - grew up idealistic in a culture of cultivated paranoia, but with a deep love for Western pop culture."
The legend of Spreepark has been brilliantly revealed in the latest edition of Edmonton's Vue Weekly. For the grandiose experience of reading the complete write up, click here!
Members of Spreepark met up with Michelle de Man from BeatRoute magazine for an interview which is featured in the November issue of the magazine. Read the article here!
